The US State Department announced, Friday, that Washington will not tolerate the perpetrators of terrorist attacks on its interests in Iraq.

A British Foreign Office statement also stated, "We, the governments of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States of America condemn in the strongest terms the April 14 attack in the Kurdistan region of Iraq," stressing Erbil's assistance in the investigations.
"The attacks on US military, coalition forces and installations will not be tolerated, and we reiterate our firm commitment to fighting ISIS," he added.

The attack on Wednesday night targeted Erbil International Airport, Kurdistan, in northern Iraq, where American military personnel are stationed, and was carried out for the first time by drone.
At the same time, a separate missile attack targeted a Turkish military base in Bashiqa, 50 km from Erbil, killing a Turkish soldier, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
No party has claimed responsibility for the Erbil attack, whose explosion was heard all over the city, according to AFP journalists, but it comes about two months after a missile attack targeted a military compound at the airport, where the forces of the International Coalition are stationed, in which two people were killed between them. For his part, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Masrour Barzani, said that those responsible for the two terrorist attacks that targeted Erbil airport and the Bashiqa camp will be held accountable.
He said in a series of tweets on his Twitter account: "I condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place tonight on Erbil International Airport and the Turkish camp in Bashiqa in Nineveh Governorate, and I condemn the terrorist group behind it."
He added, "These recent attacks are nothing but a blatant attempt to undermine our internal security and our cooperation with the international coalition."
