    Baghdad - INA - Muhammad al-Talbi The
    Ministry of Agriculture revealed, today, Monday, an agreement with Kurdistan to control the borders and the agricultural calendar, while indicating that licenses will be provided to export potatoes and tomatoes.
    Agriculture Minister Muhammad Karim al-Khafaji told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The percentage of government control over the border crossings from Basra Governorate to Diyala, except for the Kurdistan region, reaches 80%."
    He added that "a meeting will soon be held with the region to discuss border control," noting that "we have reached an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture of the region to control the borders and agree on the agricultural calendar."
    He added, "Vegetable crops were exported abroad due to a production surplus," noting that "there will be an application for export licenses, whether potatoes, tomatoes, or others."
