{Economical: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee expressed its surprise at the appeal submitted by the government in some paragraphs of the budget and its refusal to increase the prices of buying wheat, barley and rice crops from farmers.
The committee said in a statement that the Euphrates News received a copy of it, that it is "surprised by the appeal submitted by the government in some of the budget paragraphs that will deprive the oil-producing provinces of their petro-dollar allocations, after the Finance Committee added a paragraph in the budget that guarantees the rights of these provinces."
She added, as she was surprised by the government's rejection of the House of Representatives’s decision to increase the purchase prices of wheat, barley and rice crops from farmers, as the Finance Committee included this paragraph in the budget in support of farmers and the advancement of the agricultural sector.
On the 15th of last Nisam, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced the government's intention to challenge some items of the fiscal budget for 2021, "because the amendments made to it by Parliament affect the health, electricity and other sectors."
On the 20th of last Nisam, the Council of Ministers authorized Al-Kazemi to file an appeal with the Federal Court on some of the budget's provisions,
Minister of Planning Khaled Najm said that the appeal will also affect the article related to regional development projects, stressing the need for separation between the authorities in the country.
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives approved the country's fiscal budget for the current year in early February, with a total expenditure amounting to 129 trillion dinars, and a deficit of 28 trillion.
Estimated revenues from exporting crude oil were also calculated on the basis of an average price of $ 45 a barrel, and an export rate of 3.250 million barrels per day.
The budget was approved after months of disagreements, as well as after parliament reduced the value of expenditures provided by the government, which is 164 trillion dinars.
