Transportation: Iraq's ports operate around the clock and during official holidays

The Ministry of Transport announced, on Saturday, that the company's ports operate 24 hours a day, and during the official holidays. The Director-General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Muhaisin Al-Fartousi, said in a statement during his field tour of the northern and southern Umm Qasr ports and the specialized port of Khor Al-Zubayr, that "Iraq's ports and their owners operate at their usual capacity to receive ships loaded with goods, containers and oil tankers daily, and during the official holidays, Despite the high temperatures and the spread of the Corona pandemic. Al-Fartousi added, "Today, we conducted an inspection tour to inform the public about the activities of the Khor Al-Zubair port, in which a virtual exercise was conducted to combat extinguishing a fire, in addition to an inspection visit to the oil berths and the berths of goods and containers in the northern and southern Umm Qasr ports, accompanied by a number of satellite channels and news agencies." .
