    Today, Sunday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee revealed that there is parliamentary support for passing the draft law on compulsory conscription, although it suggested postponing its approval to the next parliamentary session.
    Committee member Kati Al-Rikabi told the official agency, followed by the "National News Center", that "the draft law on compulsory conscription was put forward in the previous session, and was discussed in the previous and current sessions, and then it was returned to the government to make an amendment to some language paragraphs and other terms related to the law." "The law is still with the government," he said.
    Al-Rikabi added, "The issue has been discussed several times and everyone is in favor of this law, but the bill was delayed by the government and did not reach the parliament."
    He pointed out that "the remaining time does not allow a vote on it, especially since a first and second reading has not taken place," adding that he is likely to "vote on the draft law on compulsory conscription in the next parliamentary session."
