    {Political: Al-Furat News} Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said, on Wednesday, that corruption was present when society was plunged into sectarian fighting.
    Al-Kazemi said at the conference to recover Iraq’s looted funds, “We welcome the brothers in the conference to recover the funds of Iraq, which has suffered from the looting of its resources, pointing out that” the path to a rational state starts from frankness with our people about the diseases that led to the decline of a great country like Iraq. In the fight against corruption, we formed a special anti-corruption committee that did its duty with the Integrity Commission, the judicial authorities, and the Ministry of Justice and Financial Control.” 
    He added, "Billions of dollars were smuggled during the time of the former regime, and that the committee revealed, within one year, corruption files that had not been revealed for 17 years, and recovered money looted from abroad." 
    He continued: "The committee was subjected to attacks and false accusations, the aim was to thwart it and thwart its work, and after 2003 some took advantage of chaos and the weakness of the state to smuggle money abroad," noting that "corruption tried to plunge society into a hateful sectarian conflict, there is no place for frustration and retreat." 
    He concluded his speech by saying: "Enough disregard for the capabilities of peoples and public funds," noting that "the decline in services and educational and health institutions is caused by corruption."
