The Central Bank of Iraq's currency sales fell significantly, today, Thursday, to record 188 million dollars.
And the currency sale auction at the Central Bank witnessed a decrease in dollar sales by 11.74% to reach 188 million, and 499 thousand and 208 dollars covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar, compared to yesterday, Wednesday, in which sales amounted to 213 million and 698 thousand and 484 dollars American.
The purchases amounting to 171 million and 469 thousand and 208 dollars went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, while the remaining amount of 17 million and 30 thousand dollars went in cash.
And that 34 banks met requests to enhance balances abroad, and 5 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to the participation of 5 exchange companies.
