    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Commerce announced, on Thursday, the date of distributing the electronic ration card, pointing to the creation of a division to issue it.
    And the trade media said, in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "the Minister of Commerce Alaa Al-Jubouri approved the creation of a division in the Planning and Follow-up Department whose mission is to manage the electronic ration card project, issue electronic ration cards and implement a catering program." 
    The ministry said that "the electronic card project and a catering application on mobile phones came to facilitate and simplify procedures for citizens in carrying out ration card transactions in a modern, advanced and transparent manner using technology and eliminating red tape in paper use and deleting and deleting repetition, which will provide a solid database on which many parties depend, as well as It will eliminate negative manifestations and corruption." 
    She indicated, "It worked on this project with the United Nations World Food Program and through the Planning and Follow-up Department and the Information Technology Department in the ministry. Over the two years, it included several meetings, meetings, agreements and training of staff to work on updating data and registration, leading to the initiation of issuing the electronic ration card, and then A catering application on smart phones after completing all procedures. 
    In its statement, the ministry called on "citizens in all governorates and holders of unified cards to review the supply center to update their data on the basis of the unified national card so that it can issue electronic ration cards for them to benefit from a catering application, which also provides the feature of electronic payment so that the fees of collection fees are paid for services through it and according to the mechanisms." which it follows in the success of this project to serve the citizen.” 
    The ministry confirmed that "next week, the electronic card will be distributed to those covered by the social protection network to receive the food basket items for the centers that have completed their printing, and the rest of the centers will be completed in turn."
