On Friday, the Ministry of Agriculture adopted a new mechanism for the local product in the Kurdistan region, taking new steps to achieve economic integration between the provinces.
And the spokesman for the ministry, Hamid Al-Nayef, said in a statement followed by NRT Arabia, (November 5, 2021), that "the Ministry of Agriculture has set up an exhibition in Erbil that includes all poultry products, including table eggs, meat chickens and agricultural crops in the region," noting that "the exhibition was attended by more than of 50 companies between the region, the center and the south.
Al-Nayef added, "The aim of the exhibition is to identify the local product in the region and isolate it from the importer and smuggler," noting that "the ministry is working on economic integration between the provinces, meaning that the crops of Basra are in all provinces and the crops of Erbil as well as other provinces to reduce smuggling."
He stressed, "The ministry is working on a new mechanism, which is to transfer the local product from the region to the rest of the provinces instead of the merchants so that it does not affect the local product," noting that "the region has a local product."
And Al-Nayef said, "The ministry is working on sorting the local product from the smuggled and offering the local product in all governorates of Iraq through the General Company for Agricultural Supplies to stabilize the local market, especially table eggs as well as meat chickens."
