[size=45]The legal expert, Ali Al-Tamimi, confirmed today, Sunday, that many of the fugitives outside Iraq who were issued arrest warrants for criminal or material crimes related to corruption claim that they are fugitives for political reasons, which hinders the process of their arrest and return to Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Tamimi explained that "some countries have articles in their constitution that prevent the extradition of people who seek refuge in them while they are fleeing from their countries for political reasons, and here this loophole is exploited for not being arrested by the International Police (Interpol) and handing them over to Iraq."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Tamimi pointed out that "the money smuggled outside Iraq is estimated at about 500 billion dollars, according to United Nations reports, and the Iraqi state can seek the assistance of the UN Security Council and activate diplomatic efforts to recover those funds with the people involved in smuggling it."[/size]
