The last round of strategic dialogue between Baghdad and Washington ended with a complete withdrawal in the language of the Iraqis, and a rotation in the language of the Americans, as the two countries' statements conflicted about what was agreed upon in the withdrawal session.
The joint operations say that the combat forces of the international coalition will leave Iraq completely, but what came out of the mouth of General Frank McKenzie, the commander of the US Central Command, embarrassed them in front of the armed factions that were waiting for the results.
McKenzie said in a televised interview that about 2,500 soldiers with their weapons will remain inside Iraqi territory in support and advisory roles.
But even these roles will not change, as the absence on Earth will be matched by a presence in the sky, as Pentagon officials confirm.
Officials say that the coalition aircraft will not withdraw from Iraqi airspace and will continue its combat operations at the request of Baghdad.
According to some of the meeting’s leaks, Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government wanted to announce the American withdrawal to fend off the pressures of the political parties and the threats of the armed factions, which have not yet been convinced of the outcomes of the dialogue, with American expectations that the Katyusha season will return soon.
