{Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region announced today, Monday, the arrival of 200 billion dinars, to its bank account, for the purpose of financing the salaries of the region’s employees.
And the ministry stated in a brief statement, that "at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, an amount of 200 billion dinars arrived from Baghdad to the Kurdistan region, according to the agreement."
The Central Bank of Iraq branch in Erbil deposited the amount in the bank account of the Kurdistan Ministry of Finance and Economy, in order to finance salaries for employees and workers in the public sector.
The Kurdistan Regional Government has attributed the end of last month the reason for the slow process of distributing salaries to the lack of all internal revenues as necessary.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi decided last June to disburse 200 billion dinars as an advance allocated to pay the monthly salaries of the region’s employees.
Government officials in Kurdistan confirm that without this monthly funding that Baghdad sends to the region, it is difficult to pay the salaries of hundreds of thousands of employees and retirees in full and without deduction.
The regional government provides the remainder of the salaries for the disbursement of salaries from the internal financial revenues in Kurdistan.
