Central Bank of Iraq sales rise to 188 million dollars
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that today, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, the Central Bank witnessed an increase in its dollar sales by 9.3% to reach 188 million and 43 thousand and 182 US dollars covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar, compared to yesterday, Sunday. The sales amounted to 172 million and 608 thousand US dollars.
Our correspondent added that most of the bank's sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 144 million and 933 thousand and 182 dollars, while the remaining amount of 43 million and 110 thousand dollars went in cash.
Our correspondent indicated that 23 banks have responded to requests to enhance balances abroad, 13 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to 198 mediation companies.
