A member of the coordination framework, Jabbar Al-Maamouri, confirmed, on Friday, that the Al-Kazemi government is making a strategic mistake by being silent about the identity of the target of Baghdad Airport.
Al-Maamouri said in an interview with Al-Information, “The targeting of Baghdad International Airport is a serious security breach that affects the sovereignty of Iraq and a blatant violation that cannot be tolerated, pointing out that the intelligence services arrested a few days ago the mastermind of targeting the airport between Diyala and Salah al-Din.”
Al-Maamouri added, “The surprising thing is that the matter passed quietly, and it was not, despite the seriousness of the criminal act, stressing that what is happening indicates that the detainee is linked to an influential political party that is behind the failure to proceed with the disclosure of the detainee’s papers in front of Iraqi public opinion.”
He pointed out that “Al-Kazemi’s government is making a strategic mistake by being silent about the identity of the target of Baghdad International Airport and giving a negative signal to public opinion, stressing that all the results of the investigations must be announced so that the Iraqis are aware of those who support the sabotage acts that are intended to mix papers and harm the country’s reputation.
