    India's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, affirmed to the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, his country's readiness to present a program to build and develop capabilities in the Kurdistan Region, praising the Kurdistan Region's support for the Indian scholarly hand and providing them with job opportunities.

    This came during a meeting between Nechirvan Barzani and the Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, today, Saturday, February 19, 2022, on the sidelines of their participation in the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

    The President of the Kurdistan Region continues his meetings with leaders and officials from countries around the world, on the second day of the international conference.

    In their meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities for progress in relations and areas of joint cooperation between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and between India, the atmosphere for operating Indian capital and investments and opening doors for Indian companies. They also exchanged views on the political and security situation in Iraq and the region.

    The Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his country's thanks and appreciation to the Kurdistan Region for its support of the Indian labor force and the provision of job opportunities for it, referring to his country's program to build and develop capabilities in the Kurdistan Region.

    Jaishankar affirmed that his country can provide training and rehabilitation in the fields of health, banking and universities.

    For his part, the President of the Kurdistan Region indicated that "the Indian labor force in the Kurdistan Region is a working and professional group that receives full support," praising the Indian capacity building and development program, stressing the desire of the Kurdistan Region to strengthen relations with India.

    Nechirvan Barzani pointed to the desire of the Kurdistan Region and its welcome for Indian capital and companies.

    In another aspect of the meeting, the two sides discussed national and religious pluralism, the richness of the culture of coexistence and tolerance in India, the visits of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region to India to receive medical treatment, in addition to a set of issues of common interest to both sides.
