Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq's sales of the US dollar currency rose significantly, today, Tuesday, during the auction that it conducts daily, to reach more than 221 million dollars.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank witnessed today, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, a significant increase in its sales of US dollars by 62.5 percent, to reach 221 million and 239 thousand and 915 US dollars, which were covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar, compared to On Monday, sales amounted to 136 million and 596 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent added that foreign remittances during today's auction amounted to 159 million and 539 thousand and 915 dollars, compared to cash sales, which amounted to 61 million and 700 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 29 banks have fulfilled requests to enhance balances abroad, and 23 banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 301 mediation companies.
