    The head of the Union of Muslim Scholars, Jabbar Al-Maamouri, confirmed, on Thursday, that Al-Kazemi was involved in starving the southern governorates through wrong policies.

    Al-Maamouri said in an interview with / the information / that "we receive many appeals about the poor living conditions due to the high prices of vegetables and fruits in the southern governorates in a very large way due to the wrong policies of the Al-Kazemi government, which permitted the import of everything through the ports of Kurdistan, but it prevents everything through the southern ports."
    He added, "Al-Kazemi is involved, regardless of a clear political agreement to give Kurdistan outlets to import without any control, while the southern outlets are closed to starve the people and push them to poverty and material destitution because of the curse of prices."
    He pointed out that "the Union has started a popular movement in order to launch peaceful demonstrations against the Al-Kazemi government because of its miserable and failed policies in managing the most important files of the country and the failure to deal in fair and equitable frameworks with the south and center."
    The southern and central governorates are suffering from an unprecedented rise in the prices of agricultural crops due to the closure of border crossings against import, while conditions differ in Kurdistan.
