On Sunday, the Ministry of Transport announced that the fleet of the General Company for Land Transport and the companies allied with it had transported 152 thousand tons of various tonnages during the month of March.
A statement by the ministry, Mawazine News, received a copy of it, quoting the general manager of the company, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mortada Karim Al-Shahmani, as saying: It is in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Transport, Captain Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli, to harness the logistical effort of the land fleet to transport cargoes of ships arriving in Iraq through the ports and various agricultural and industrial commodities for the benefit of The ministries of the service state according to the transport contracts concluded with the company, as the land fleet transported this quantity by 1,060 transports, which included various electrical materials for the benefit of the Ministries of Electricity and Industry, and imported wheat and flour for the benefit of the Ministry of Trade, in addition to fuels of various kinds to the Ministries of Interior and Water Resources.
Al-Shahmani indicated that there are specialized transports transported by refrigerated trucks from Baghdad International Airport as part of the air freight transport contract, which included medicines, laboratory materials and perishable foodstuffs.
And he concluded, that the company's fleet is now working within several strategic axes to secure the transportation of various cargoes to ministries and government sectors under transport contracts concluded with them. Ended 29/R77
