Yesterday, Monday, the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq revealed a movement towards concluding agreements that would enhance the tourism labor market.
A statement by the Association stated that "the official Iraqi pavilion was opened at the Arabian Travel Market ATM exhibition in Dubai," noting that "the pavilion was opened under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities - the Iraqi Tourism Authority, and under the supervision and implementation of the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq."
The statement explained that "the exhibition was launched with the participation of Iraqi tourism companies and hotels from various governorates." Haider Amer Al-Dujaili, the head of the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq, said, according to the statement: "The association's participation in the exhibition with an official pavilion represents Iraq for the first time through the holding of previous exhibition sessions."
He added, "The Arabian Travel Market is one of the important Arab and international exhibitions in which multiple companies and organizations specialized in tourism work from all countries of the world participate."
Al-Dujaili added that “the aim of the participation is to highlight Iraq as an important tourist destination in the Middle East and to promote archaeological, heritage and cultural tourism, due to the important sites and monuments that the land of Mesopotamia enjoys,” pointing to “working to conclude understandings and agreements that enhance the joint tourism market and openness to all Countries of the world".
