Shafaq News/ The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Iraq decided, on Tuesday, to postpone the payment of installments and interests due to beneficiaries of loans from the agricultural and industrial banks, for a period of two and a half years.
The bank's media stated, in a statement received by Shafak News Agency, that the beneficiaries of his initiatives who borrowed from the aforementioned banks until December 31, 2024 were not requested, with no objection to receiving them from those who wish to continue paying from customers.
It is noteworthy that the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Iraq studied the economic conditions that the country is going through and the challenges facing workers in various economic sectors, especially the agricultural and industrial sectors, and the success of its financing initiatives in achieving its basic objectives of creating development, providing job opportunities and filling part of the needs that were secured by imports. Which calls for supporting projects and mitigating the effects that resulted from the Corona pandemic and the economic conditions that prevail in the world, which affected the capabilities of some projects in fulfilling their obligations to the banks that lent them, in a way that ensures the continuation of the work of these projects and overcoming the temporary problems they face.
