Al-Amiri sends a message through Russia regarding the formation of the Iraqi government
This came during a meeting in his office in the capital, Baghdad, with Russian Ambassador Elbrus Kutrashev and Undersecretary of the Federal Authority for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation Alexei Frolkin, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.
The meeting discussed "bilateral relations and strengthening them at all levels to achieve the interests of the two countries and preserve the sovereignty of Iraq." confirmed
Al-Amiri stressed "the necessity of ending the current political crisis, and forming a national service government capable of providing services and providing job opportunities."
The Shiite coordination framework seeks to form a new consensus government, but it collides with a great rejection by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who failed to form a national majority government, which called him to withdraw his deputies from Parliament.
The Iraqi political scene is going through a serious predicament after the failure of the early elections that took place in October 2021 to form a new government and reach a political blockage. Last August, these clashes left dozens of dead and hundreds wounded on both sides.
