Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Electricity confirmed that the Iraqi-Jordanian electrical connection will add 150 megawatts to the country as a first stage, while setting a date for the completion of the project.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Musa, said that "the first phase of the Iraqi-Jordanian electrical interconnection project was signed, and work has begun to actually connect the Risha Transformation Station in Al-Qaim through the Risha-Qaim lines."
Moussa added, "The Iraqi-Jordanian electrical connection will secure and add to Iraq in the first phase 150 megawatts, and enhance Iraq's entry into the energy market, and perhaps it will be a gateway to enter or establish the Arab interconnection system."
He continued, "We have completed partial stages of the electrical connection line with Jordan, and it will be ready next summer.
