Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities clarified the details of the water project (Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf - Al-Kufa), while specifying the date for the completion of the project.
A statement of the ministry, received by "Al-Iqtisad News", stated that "the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, under the supervision of its General Directorate of Water, has completed (67) percent of the unified (Al-Najaf - Al-Kufa) water project, which is one of the most important projects of the ministry's investment plan in the potable water sector."
The statement added, "The project, which has a design capacity of (16,000) m3 / hour, is being built on an area of (110) dunums, and it is the second largest water project in the country," noting that "the project will meet the need of (800) thousand people for potable water in the districts of Kufa and Najaf."
He pointed out that "the project consists of three parts (low pumping stations, main filtration and reinforcement), and it is hoped that the project will be completed early next year."
