Shafaq News / The leader of the "For the People" coalition, MP Alaa Al-Rikabi, said on Saturday that Iraq is facing a new international guardianship, after briefing the United Nations representative, Jenin Blaskharat, in the UN Security Council, about the country's recent situation.
Al-Rikabi said, during a press conference held at the parliament building, with the participation of coalition deputies, and attended by Shafak News Agency, that "the Iranian and Turkish bombing of areas inside Iraqi territory in the region has become repeated from time to time under unrealistic pretexts and arguments."
He added that "sometimes these two countries are bombed under the pretext of the presence of the Israeli Mossad in Erbil, under the pretext of preserving its national security, but after assigning a fact-finding committee headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the membership of the National Security Adviser and other supportive parties to find out the truth of the matter, it turned out that this is a pure fantasy and that the area that was bombed It is inhabited by a civilian population, and the bombing caused significant material damage.”
Al-Rikabi continued: "Ten days ago, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards bombed areas in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil under the pretext of the presence of an armed Iranian opposition, but the shells fell on homes, schools and safe residents, and caused damage to lives and property."
He pointed out that "what the UN representative, Jenin Plaschaert, spoke to the United Nations General Assembly about the Iraqi situation, pointed out important flaws, most notably the political tension and the government's inability to improve services for citizens and provide security, and this means that the current government and its predecessors and political crises have weakened the state's existence and prestige.
