    Economy News - Baghdad
On Thursday, Adviser to the Prime Minister, Abdel-Hussein Hanin, called for the abolition of the ministries of oil and electricity, and the establishment of the Ministry of Energy.
Haneen wrote in a post on his Facebook wall, “Talking about reform will not be fruitful without turning into a brave and realistic application that refuses to listen to the undecided and the beneficiaries, and there is no file in Iraq in which reform can be started better than the energy sector, because it still represents 95% of Iraq's direct financial imports.
He added, "As for the reluctance to reform this sector and to be satisfied with talking (entertainment) in seminars and conferences, it means more waste and lost opportunities, and consequently the continued decline of the development total for the rest of the other sectors, as energy is considered the locomotive that leads the economy and that the energy sector in Iraq is still It is the most dangerous place in contracts, and it is the focus of exceptional decisions that go beyond the instructions for concluding contracts, and do not take into account the instructions for implementing the budget law, under the pretext of the lack of competition and the monopoly of contracted companies.
He continued, "That is why I think it is imperative that we courageously abolish the ministries of oil and electricity, and establish the Ministry of Energy with a law or a temporary bylaw that complies with the law of the ministry to be legislated later, and we believe that this ministry should include:
1- The National Oil Company instead of the Ministry of Oil
2- The National Electricity Company instead of the Ministry of Electricity
3- The National Gas Company instead of the gas companies in the Ministry of Oil
4- The Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission
5- All the remaining current companies and institutions of the Ministry of Oil that are not associated with any of the above companies
6- Energy Research Center - Establishment New: with international standards and is concerned with everything that would develop the energy sector in Iraq, including the local and external energy market
7 - Iraqi Energy Information Administration- IEIA) - new establishment
