Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani issued several directives during the cabinet session.
The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement that "Al-Sudani chaired today, Tuesday, the second regular session of the Council of Ministers, which included a discussion of the overall general situation in the country, and a number of basic economic and service files."
Al-Sudani affirmed at the beginning of the session, according to the statement, that the government is proceeding to implement its government program through high coordination between state institutions.
The Prime Minister directed all ministers to prepare the government program within a maximum period of one week, according to the ministerial curriculum, which focuses on issues of unemployment, poverty, services, support for the economy and the fight against corruption, and stressed that the ministers’ evaluation will be based on their efforts and performance in combating corruption.
Al-Sudani also directed, according to the statement, to expedite the establishment of the unified treasury account; To control the money in the state and prevent its leakage and waste, as well as for the ministers to review all contracts concluded under previous governments, and see their consistency with the controls and instructions.
The statement continued, "In order to streamline work in the vacant ministries, it was decided to assign the Minister of Health to run the Ministry of Environment as an agency, and to assign the Minister of Foreign Affairs to manage the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works."
