On Sunday (October 6, 2022), Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani issued two directives to the Ministries of Commerce and Justice.
A spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Haider Majid, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, followed by IQ News, that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Commerce to transfer the company's registration system from paper to electronic, to facilitate and simplify procedures."
He added, "Al-Sudani also directed the Ministry of Justice to transfer the real estate registration system from paper to electronic, to facilitate and simplify the procedures, and to submit a monthly report on the progress of work for what was stated in the two directives, to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers."
He continued, "The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, through the Supreme Committee for Electronic Governance, chaired and supervised by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, continues its steps towards automating government services provided to citizens, and converting paper services to electronic ones, in order to simplify procedures," noting, "The National Data Center Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has made remarkable progress in the process of canceling paper issuance certificates and transferring them electronically, successively, in coordination with official institutions."
He explained, "The procedures included the real estate registration and tax departments, the forensic medicine department and the courts for the electronic issuance of death certificates, and the trial launch took place at the University of Baghdad for university degrees and will be launched soon in three provinces for the departments of the book of justice, as it was launched experimentally, between tax departments and unions."
He pointed out that "the breast health system is working in the Institution of Political Prisoners, the Iraqi Accountants Syndicate, and the branches of the real estate registration and tax departments in Basra Governorate, in addition to the Fallujah branch within Anbar Governorate."
