Today, Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani directed the competent authorities to conduct fundamental investigations regarding Al-Muthanna Airport Prison, while instructing the Human Rights Adviser to visit the prison and conduct interviews with inmates.
The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that, "Based on the information received by the Prime Minister's office and what was circulated by the media, regarding the Muthanna Airport prison and other prisons, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, the competent authorities to conduct fundamental investigations and in accordance with the law.
He added, "Al-Sudani instructed the Human Rights Adviser to visit Al-Muthanna Airport Prison, conduct interviews with the inmates there, and submit the results as soon as possible."
