    Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdel-Ghani affirmed, on Tuesday, the ministry's keenness to support scientific energies, talents and innovations in the oil sector, which "aims to develop and enhance their skills to achieve plans to improve performance and advance the oil industry and sustainable development."
    And a statement by the Ministry of Oil stated that this came "during the ceremony announcing the project to launch study fellowships for workers in the oil sector, and it comes within the agreement to provide 50 scholarships annually, granted by the Chinese company to workers in the Iraqi oil sector to complete studies in well-known Chinese universities to obtain my degree." Masters and PhD.
    Abdul-Ghani said, "Today we celebrate sending a number of children from the oil sector to China to obtain a master's degree and a doctorate, as part of the bilateral cooperation program between the ministry and the (EPS) oil company, one of the arms of the Chinese Zhenhua company working in developing the field east of Baghdad."
    Abdul-Ghani added, "This project comes within the Ministry's plans and programs to develop workers, nurture national scientific talents and energies in order to obtain higher degrees to develop their scientific skills, and to strengthen the role of the national effort in managing the oil sector on advanced and solid scientific bases."
    He continued, "The Ministry of Oil has been constantly strengthening and expanding horizons of cooperation with discreet international companies operating in Iraq in order to provide dozens or even hundreds of training and academic opportunities for workers in the oil sector, especially in specializations that are rare or that constitute a real actual need for some joints of the local oil and gas industry." Through which we aim to upgrade the workers in the oil sector, and strengthen our strategy in human development, to keep pace with the global development in this field, and push the oil industry to horizons and a better future.”
    The Minister of Oil appreciated the cooperation of the Chinese side, especially the (EPS) Oil Company and the Zhenhua Company, in providing (50) scholarships each year, as well as the role of the Midland Oil Company in strengthening the ministry's orientation in this field, and the role of the Training and Development Department and the Oil Contracts and Licensing Department in setting plans. necessary to promote and develop workers in the oil sector," praising "the cooperation of other national oil companies to help outstanding students and those with skills, and to provide them with support and assistance in order to complete their scientific and academic career in service of the oil sector and the public interest."
