The Minister of Environment, Nizar Amidi, discussed with the Iranian Ambassador, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, frameworks for cooperation to face environmental challenges.
Amidi said during the meeting in a statement, that "Iraq has a neighborly relationship, history and common interests with the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to the importance of developing relations in a manner consistent with the interest of the two countries," noting that he discussed the most important climatic challenges facing the region, such as drought, desertification, and the effects of climate changes, to develop Treatments for adaptation and provision of a suitable healthy environment for the two countries.
” Amidi added that the ambassador sent an official invitation to the Minister of Environment to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran to discuss the file of climate change, increase green spaces, and strengthen previous memorandums of understanding, stressing the need to continue cooperation and expand it to include other countries in the region, and to find effective solutions to mitigate The effects of dust storms and all steps that serve the interest of the two neighboring countries.
For his part, the Iranian Ambassador, Muhammad Kazem Al-Sadiq, confirmed that his meeting with the Minister of Environment is for the continuation of cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and the exchange of visits by technical and educational delegations to deepen cooperation to put all remedies in the face of environmental challenges.
