Finance Minister Taif Sami Muhammad confirmed today, Tuesday, that climate change affects money, the economy and the poor classes.
The ministry said, in a statement received by (Al-Oula News), that “Finance Minister Taif Sami Muhammad endorsed, during her attendance at the seventh annual Arab Financial Forum (financial sustainability in the Arab world after the Corona pandemic, challenges and opportunities), the contents of the speech of the Minister of Finance of the UAE Sultan Al-Jaber regarding the convening of an Arab conference regarding Addressing climate change and reducing its impact on people, money, the economy, society and environmental safety.
Sami added, according to the statement, that "the costs of climate change are exorbitant and require action at the level of governments, business owners, and civil society organizations to facilitate the convening of such a conference."
And she indicated that “the effects of climate change on money, the economy, and the poor social classes,” stressing that “financial sustainability alone was not effective unless there were objective conditions that maintain climate stability because it is related to protecting the earth from environmental damage and serious treatment of pollution of all kinds, in addition to expanding Societal culture to take into account the fertility of the land in order to have sufficient cultivation to ensure self-sufficiency.”
