On Saturday, the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowsky, expressed the readiness of American companies to increase investment in Iraq, especially in the field of energy, to serve the achievement of sovereignty for this country.
Romanowski said, in a speech she delivered during the second oil and gas forum held in Baghdad, that the rate of electrical production in the region increased by 25 percent, stressing that benefiting from the energy sector is very important, as well as investment in the commercial field is very good.
She added that the companies that work with the Iraqi government must receive their dues on time, and the issue of concluding contracts should be done well, whether at home or abroad, considering that all of these things facilitate investment in Iraq.
As the US ambassador indicated, Iraq should do such things to enhance its security in order for companies to enter it and invest in a stable and calm atmosphere to serve the Iraqis.
And she stressed the need to diversify the economy and sources of income in Iraq to expand the volume of investment, and that the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, works within this framework.
And Romanowski continued by saying that US companies are ready to invest in Iraq, and want to cooperate in the field of energy in Iraq in order to achieve sovereignty and contribute to the consolidation of stability and security in the country.
