    Baghdad (AIN)- Vice President Osama Njaifi discussed on Saturday with the Turkish ambassador to Iraq Farouk Qimagja the relations between Iraq and Turkey and the need to develop them to serve the two neighboring peoples, and enhances the relationships between them.

    Nijaifi presented, according to a statement by his press office, thanks to Turkey on humanitarian aid sent for the displaced people.

    He pointed to “the important role of Turkey on the regional and international levels and the need to activate this role to help Iraq, which is witnessing serious challenges that require of friends to provide support and cooperation to it.

    During the meeting, they discussed the political and security situation and in particular the subject of the Turkish hostages held by terrorist groups in Mosul, and the international effort to counter the IS and the need to take advantage of international sympathy in moving forward in the liberation of all parts of Iraq and to promote aspects of life away from the terrorists and sectarian militias, which represents the other face to the IS.
