The General National Insurance Company in Babylon revealed compensation for compulsory car accident insurance according to Law 52 of 1980, which stipulates compensation for citizens who are subjected to a run-over even if the car is not insured by the insurance company.
The company's director, Saadia Al-Husseini, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": The company paid compensation amounts for the past year, which amounted to more than 9 billion dinars, for the run-over accidents that citizens were subjected to, according to Law 52 of 1980, which stipulates compensation for citizens who are subjected to run-over even if they did not The car is insured by the insurance company, according to which all cars in Iraq are considered insured except for the Kurdistan region, and thus the compensation is automatic after exposure to a run-over that leads to death or physical injury.
She added that the compensation does not include the body of the car, but only the people, indicating that everyone should spread the culture of national insurance as it comes within the framework of preserving the people’s money and their lives, and that the insurance company’s doors are open to every person who is exposed to a car accident, and he must review the company’s branches within a maximum period of one year from the date of the accident to obtain legally compensated.
She pointed out that car compensation is annual and according to the law, and the national insurance company is obligated to compensate cars that are registered with the General Insurance Company.
