Electricity: We are taking steps to transform into the smart grid

Yesterday, Friday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadel, reaffirmed the need to proceed with the steps of electronic transformation and the smart grid.
A statement by the ministry stated that "the Minister of Electricity chaired a meeting that included the Baghdad Electricity Distribution Department, the Sadr Electricity Distribution Branch, the Economic Department, and the director of the minister's office, regarding energy sales, their cost, and the mechanisms being implemented," pointing out that "during the meeting, several axes and proposals to proceed with procedures were discussed." A real and effective platform to collect wasted energies.
Fadel explained, according to the statement, that "the government's approach in general calls on everyone to maximize collection resources and limit losses and abuses," calling on "high-spending ministries to pressure operating expenses that burden the state's general budget."
And the Minister of Electricity instructed "to classify the high-consumption loads and separate them from the rest of the uses in an attempt to ration their consumption and study their loads," stressing "the continuation of issuing lists of electricity wages in order to avoid losing the costs of the equipped energy."
He pointed out that "the ministry is determined to proceed with the steps of electronic transformation and the smart grid in accordance with the directives and authorization of the Council of Ministers to the ministry," directing that "there are deterrent measures against those who manipulate meter reading and those who neglect the loss of energy costs, which are government efforts for your colleagues, our heroic angels."
And he indicated that "these wages are public money through which it secures the purchase of governing materials to maintain the electrical network, complete projects, rehabilitate networks, and others."
