Today, Monday, the Jordanian authorities announced the start of implementing the electrical network interconnection agreement between Iraq and the countries of the region, stressing that Amman will start supplying Iraq with 150 megawatts of energy through the Rutba port.
And the semi-official Jordanian News Agency stated, in a report  translated by (Baghdad Today), that "the agreement will also include activating the network connection with Saudi Arabia, as Riyadh will supply Iraq with about 1,000 megawatts of energy during the next summer, while Jordan will supply the province of Basra specifically." .
The agency said that the Jordanian-Saudi step comes within the agreement concluded between the three countries to connect Iraq to the Arab energy network, which was carried out under pressure from Washington to reduce the Iraqi government's dependence on Iran for obtaining electric energy, which the United States imposes economic sanctions on.
