Today, Saturday, the Social Protection Authority confirmed the detection of 163,000 violators on the protection network within two months, and while clarifying the legal procedures followed with them, it called on the rest to report themselves in order to avoid legal penalties.
The head of the Social Protection Authority at the Ministry of Labor, Ahmed Khalaf, said in a press statement: "The ministry has completed the social research for more than 850,000 families, and work is going on in an escalating manner to complete all the families included in the research, which amount to two million and 700,000 families."
He added, "The families whose eligibility has been confirmed exceed 600,000 families so far, and they have been entered into the database of the Protection Authority, and we are currently working on preparing the outlets for granting these families smart cards after approving the budget and completing the data boycott process in the Ministry of Planning."
He continued, "The commission expects to complete the research of one million families 15 days after the Eid holiday, and the process will continue throughout the coming period to complete the research of all the included families."
Khalaf confirmed the detection of 163,000 violators of the protection network during the ongoing audits for two months, indicating that "the violators vary between being government employees or retired, and their data has been uploaded and their subsidy has been suspended in preparation for taking legal measures and penalties."
He added, "With regard to the Ministry of Labor, all amounts received by the transgressors are recovered, while there are ministries that take strict penalties against the transgressors, and there are orders to refer them to the competent courts."
He pointed out, "These penalties prompted thousands of transgressors to voluntarily report their transgressions and demand the suspension of the protection salaries they receive, and in return, the legal procedure is to install the amounts they received and recover them."
