Today, Wednesday, the Al-Fatah Alliance confirmed that the upcoming cabinet reshuffle of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani is professional and does not involve political targeting.
The representative of the coalition, Karim Aliwi, told (Baghdad Today) that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani intends to carry out a cabinet reshuffle based on a professional manner and according to a follow-up of all the actions and movements of ministers in his government," noting that "this amendment does not contain any political targeting of any party." Minister belongs to it.
Aliwi added, "The cabinet reshuffle aims to evaluate the government's work and find ministers capable of implementing the government program," pointing out that "the amendment is to fix these failures in government performance."
The political and popular circles are awaiting the first ministerial change in the Iraqi government headed by Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani, which was formed more than a year after early elections were held in Iraq in 2021. Al-Sudani as prime minister, as this upcoming ministerial change raises questions about its feasibility.
Cabinet reshuffle
Al-Sudani affirmed his intention to carry out a ministerial reshuffle according to a “performance evaluation” after the expiration of a six-month period granted to members of his government after the assignment, and stated in a television interview that “the implementation of the government’s plan requires follow-up and evaluation of the team, otherwise if we remain with the same tools without progress in implementation, we will not achieve anything.” Noting that among the problems pointed out to the previous governments is “complimenting” the incompetent ministers, and Al-Sudani pledged to carry out a cabinet reshuffle “according to purely professional standards” and not to compliment “lacking ministers” or “incompetent” at the same time.
And he believed that the ministerial change did not prejudice the "political agreement" that led to the formation of the government, indicating that he is looking for "successful tools that can implement solutions to the problems of housing, industry, agriculture and education," and stressed that solutions cannot be achieved by "praying or wishing, and it must be A successful plan and tools and implementation,” explaining that the ministers in his government received a direct warning from him upon assignment that they have “only six months, then their performance will be subject to a real evaluation according to clear professional standards.” He also stressed that the indicators of this evaluation, which will end six months after the approval of the program The government is what will determine the survival or departure of members of his government, and he pointed out that a cabinet reshuffle will take place after the deadline expires, indicating that "the amendment is based on purely professional grounds." That "the evaluation also includes undersecretaries of ministers and general managers."but within a period of three months.
On December 12, 2022, the Cabinet approved the government program in an extraordinary session it held at the time, which means that the ministers’ deadline expires by next June.
