Welcoming the Sudanese invitation to build an Arab economic bloc

The call of Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani during the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to build an Arab economic bloc was welcomed by the specialists. Economists consider it an important step, especially as it comes in a new circumstance that Iraq is going through that helps it lead the idea and implement it. The economic expert, Faleh Al-Zubaidi, explained that "the establishment of an Arab economic bloc from which Iraq can benefit, especially that the investments and money of Arab countries, instead of going to foreign countries, can be invested in Iraq, especially since we represent virgin land that needs tens of thousands of projects in infrastructure and the investment of western lands and the exploitation of other natural resources.
Al-Zubaidi added, in an interview with Al-Sabah, "We must set rules in order to attract investments," noting that "there are external pressures regarding this matter that could hinder everything, and therefore calm and stability in Iraq will enable him to extract his sovereign decision and give him independence." Economic".
He added, "The decision is in the hands of the government by extending its control over the security situation, and not allowing pockets of corruption and bureaucracy to impede investment," noting that "through this initiative, Iraq can obtain several benefits, including job opportunities, tax returns, and others."
For his part, the economic expert, Mahmoud Dagher, expressed his support for what Al-Sudani put forward, stating that "the Arab world cannot rise without economic unity in which the Arab countries support each other. He who owns oil supports the one who has agriculture, and he who owns industry supports the one who has water, and so on. Therefore, I think that Sudani succeeded in this matter.
Dagher told Al-Sabah: "This matter is achievable. If the Arabs know their interests, they can implement Al-Sudani's call, because the interest of the Arabs lies in their unity, and because al-Qaeda is neither permanent enmity nor permanent friendships, but rather permanent interests."
