On Sunday, the Ministry of Transport revealed administrative and technical plans that are being worked on in the General Company for Iraqi Airways under the direct supervision of Minister Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi.
A statement by the media office of the Ministry of Transport, received by "Al-Iqtisad News", said, "The General Company for Iraqi Airways, one of the ministry's formations, is working on a pre-prepared plan under the supervision of Minister Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, to advance the company's administrative reality."
The statement added, "The company is seeking to activate the ERP system, which works to automate the administrative departments of the company," stressing that "the committee that was formed for this purpose completed the study of the companies' offers, and prepared a report on that."
The statement continued, "The ministry sent its report to the Ministry of Communications, as it is the supervising and responsible authority for the work of companies wishing to implement the automation project."
The statement added, "The General Company for Iraqi Airways continues to hold courses for technical and engineering cadres on various aircraft models of the Iraqi air fleet."
The statement noted, "The General Company of Iraqi Airways has contracts with parent companies regarding the maintenance of suspended aircraft," stressing that the minister "pays great attention to this file, in order to involve all those aircraft in civil aviation services and develop their work."
The statement confirmed, "The aircraft maintenance cadres of the Iraqi Airways Company are working on the maintenance of narrow-body aircraft, while the wide-body aircraft, the ministry contracts directly with the parent companies for their maintenance."
With regard to the maintenance of the engines of the suspended aircraft, the statement indicated that "the airline company has worked to purchase two engines from a Dutch company and is awaiting their shipment to Baghdad soon, stressing that the process of installing the two engines in the two planes takes only a day or two, and then they are returned directly to the service".
