    Today, Monday, the Ministry of Commerce confirmed the revival of the central markets in Baghdad and the provinces, in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, while announcing the signing of a contract with the Ministry of Education to prepare the curriculum for the reading subject for the fourth primary.
    The Director General of the General Company for Central Markets, Zahra Shaiban Al-Kilani, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Commerce to increase sales centers, which are part of the activity of central markets."
    Al-Kilani added, "The public company has developed a new plan represented in transforming the central people's market into a marketing outlet for citizens with the aim of supporting the Iraqi consumer, achieving balance in the economic process, and preventing monopoly by merchants." 
    She pointed out that "the Central Amel Market and Al-Salihiya Market have been rehabilitated and operated again, while the Al-Rasheed Central Market opened two weeks ago as part of the Prime Minister's campaign to rehabilitate Al-Rasheed Street."
    And she continued: "As for the governorate level, the company has started a plan called (the marketing exhibition) to sell foodstuffs at lower prices than the local market, and there is a big campaign on the central markets in all the governorates, starting from Baghdad and reaching the rest of the governorates." 
    She pointed out that "the company is continuing to supply state departments with various devices, stationery, clothes and foodstuffs," indicating that "equipping the Ministries of Defense and Interior is done through the company, and the Ministry of Defense was asked to supply them with cameras, stationery, TV screens, and other materials." 
    And she indicated that "a contract was signed with the Ministry of Education to prepare the curriculum for the reading subject for the fourth grade of primary school for the academic year 2023-2024, with a share of up to 9% of the amount allocated from the curricula and with a processing period of only 15 days, given that the printing press of the General Company for Central Markets is one of the solid printing presses." And modern and developed, which ranks third at the level of Iraq.
