Baghdad municipalities are approaching agriculture to transform the sex of lands

Baghdad municipalities have sent the Ministry of Agriculture a list of agricultural lands covered by Resolution No. 320 of 2022 in order to take appropriate measures to convert them into residential ones.
The Director of Baghdad Municipalities, Eng. Yasser Al-Quraishi, told Al-Sabah: The Directorate, based on Council of Ministers Resolution No. 320 of 2022, which includes the ownership of transgressors who built regular housing units on state-owned agricultural lands, has completed the first phase of the project, which is inventorying the lands and inventorying the residents therein. In addition to the completion of sectoral designs.
He added that the directorate has recently started the second phase, which is the cancellation of agricultural contracts and water allotments allocated to lands, to begin officially converting them into residential ones. A list of about 20,000 lands covered by the decision was sent to the Ministry of Agriculture in order to initiate procedures for raising water allotments and including them in residential land plans. This is followed by the stage of owning and determining the value of the constructions by special evaluation committees that determine the unit price according to the regions and the land area in them in order to collect sums from the citizens.
Al-Quraishi noted that the Directorate, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, has launched organized campaigns to remove any encroachments on agricultural lands, because the outputs of this decision prevent the building of any buildings on them so that there is a clear database of agricultural and residential lands.
