The Ministry of Environment revealed its vision that it is currently working on, which is based on three factors.
The Director of the Directorate of Environmental Changes, Youssef Muayad, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah": The ministry's vision at the present time focuses on increasing financial allocations for the government, encouraging green investment and the private sector. The next Ministry of Environment is economic, and its aim is to obtain funding from international bodies supported by the United Nations and countries friendly to Iraq, in order to encourage green investment in the country. The World Bank report confirmed Iraq's need for $238 billion until 2040 to face the impact of climate change, pointing out that it is difficult for Iraq to obtain these sums from international financing.He pointed out, "Iraq's need to update some legislation and laws, and Iraq has a promising investment through which we can cover many important projects that provide job opportunities, and that would change many of the country's economies."
