Earth News/ Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein indicated on Wednesday that Iraq is committed to the security plan with Iran.
Hussein stated in a press conference held with his Iranian counterpart in Tehran that “economic relations between Baghdad and Tehran have developed significantly.”
He added, “We discussed the important Shalamcheh-Basra railway project to connect Iran with the Iraqi provinces with the aim of transporting Iranian visitors to Basra,” noting that “security and stability in the region are achieved through collective cooperation.”
He continued, “Iraq worked to disarm the parties opposed to Iran, and they were deported and placed in camps supervised by refugee affairs,” pointing out that “Iraq is committed to the security plan with Iran and is broadcasting to the Iranian media documenting Kurdistan’s commitment to it.”
