The Ministry of Transport is moving to renew and develop the country's railway network according to economic feasibility, especially after receiving offers from international companies specialized in this field.
Director of the Ministry’s Media Office, Maitham Al-Safi, said in an interview with Al-Sabah, followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that the Ministry is determined to make a qualitative shift in the railway sector, and that there are diligent efforts to develop and renew it, especially after receiving offers from international companies specialized in this field.
He pointed out that the aforementioned sector has recently witnessed a wide demand by citizens to move and travel through it to all governorates, indicating that this step will coincide with intensive campaigns to rehabilitate and maintain the current lines, with the aim of passing trains quickly and safely, in addition to supporting the national economy and maximizing the financial resources of the railway company.
