Transport seeks to develop the railway sector

The Ministry of Transport is seeking to finalize the file of developing the railway sector by implementing a parallel railways project, after receiving offers from international companies to implement it. Assistant Director of the General Railway Company, Fadhel Sbar Al-Azzawi, told Al-Sabah that there are specialized committees working to receive offers from international companies wishing to invest and develop the railway sector, through the construction of two-way (double) lines, in order to facilitate the movement of express trains ascending and descending in the region. The provinces where the railway networks extend, pointing out that the ministry is seeking to accredit reliable international companies to implement projects and improve the capabilities of the railways, due to the great importance of this sector in the economic movement and renaissance led by the government during the next stage.
And Al-Azzawi indicated that there is a great increase and demand by citizens to travel between the governorates, depending on the railway trains that work to provide means of comfort and safety for them, in addition to the existence of central control to monitor the movement of these trains to ensure the accuracy of their departure times and their arrival to the required destination.
