    [size=45]The Iraqi authorities decided today (Thursday) to form a committee and open an office to collect donations from Iraqi citizens to the Palestinian people, while violent fighting between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) continues for the sixth day in a row.[/size]
    [size=45]Major General Yahya Rasoul, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, said in a statement, “In implementation of the order of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, it was decided to form a joint committee to open an office to receive donations and aid to the Palestinian people.”[/size]
    [size=45]Major General Rasoul explained that the office will be opened at the Air Defense Command headquarters near Abbas bin Firnas Square, west of the capital, Baghdad.[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that the committee will organize the mechanism for receiving and delivering these donations, pointing out that the committee will begin its work immediately and present its results to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.[/size]
    [size=45]Iraq decided earlier today to send humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip in coordination with the Egyptian authorities.[/size]
    [size=45]Israel imposes a comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip, preventing all supplies of electricity, fuel, water and basic materials to the residents of Gaza.[/size]
    [size=45]The imposition of the siege began after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack against Israel under the name “Al-Aqsa Flood” last Saturday, to which the Israeli army also responded by launching Operation “Iron Swords” against the movement in Gaza.[/size]
