Baghdad: Israa Al-Samarrai

The Ministry of Migration and Displacement seeks to solve the technical problems that obstruct the return of displaced families to their areas of original residence in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The Ministry's Technical Undersecretary, Jassem Al-Attiyah, told Al-Sabah: The Ministry is determined to solve the problem of the displaced despite its complexity, noting that the difficulties are represented by not building the homes of the aforementioned families that are still destroyed.
He pointed out that the Ministry is facing pressure from multiple parties, as well as representatives of displaced families in Nineveh regarding ending this file, stressing that if there is full coordination with the regional government and the concerned authorities, the Ministry will immediately begin organizing their return to their original areas after providing all their needs and solving the problem. Its security and technical problems, as there are efforts being made to conduct security checks for families residing in the camps and wishing to return, especially since the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government seek in their governmental programs to close the displacement file permanently.
