Shafaq News/ The “Ettedad” parliamentary bloc revealed, on Saturday, the influence exerted by political parties and parliamentary blocs on the Presidency of the House of Representatives to obstruct the interrogation of a number of ministers in the current federal government headed by Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
The head of the bloc, Haider Al-Salami, told Shafaq News Agency, “The interrogation requests submitted by members of the House of Representatives to the Presidency of the Council amounted to four to five requests,” adding, “However, we believe that they will not be passed easily because they depend on the nature of the interrogator, the questions directed, and partisan influence.” ".
He added, "The ministers in the current government are affiliated with political parties and blocs, and certainly these parties and blocs, through their members and the committees they chair, have a direct influence on the Presidency of the House of Representatives in delaying and obstructing the interrogation of its ministers."
Al-Salami continued, saying, “The interrogator submits the interrogation request signed by the members of the House of Representatives and mentioning the questions, and that the Presidency of the House is the one who will consider the requests and determine the date of the interrogation.”
