    The Iraqi ambassador to Turkey, Majid Abdul Redha Hassan Al-Lajmawi, confirmed that Iraq is serious about ending the problem of the Kurdistan Workers' Party on the border with Turkey, noting that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey exceeded 24 billion dollars last year.

    The Iraqi ambassador to Turkey, Majid Abdel-Rida Hassan Al-Lajmawi, said, “The relationship between Iraq and Turkey is at its best in terms of economic, political, and security coordination.” 

    Regarding the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey last year, he explained that “it exceeded 24 billion dollars, and we are currently working on completing the development path, which we expect will be a huge source of income for the two countries, ending “Unemployment, developing trade and transportation, and ending many transit problems between the two countries.” 

    According to a previous statement by the Iraqi Prime Minister's Advisor for Transport Affairs, Nasser Al-Asadi, the development path will provide 100,000 job opportunities for Iraqi youth, in the first phase, and the project will strengthen the Iraqi economy by opening the door to land and rail freight towards Europe and the Caucasus countries, and from Europe, the Caucasus and Turkey towards South Asia. and Southeast Asia.

    The project will pass through ten Iraqi cities, from Al-Faw port in Basra to the Fish Khabour border crossing, less than 10 kilometers from the city of Zakho, and there will be an internal network serving this road, and the Iraqi Kurdistan region will Also have stations in the project through the feeding network for the main project.

    According to Al-Asadi, the project has been started, and it consists of building Al-Faw Port, developing Umm Qasr Port, creating a huge international industrial city in addition to a residential city for those who provide service in this region, tunnels implemented for the first time in Iraq, and an extension of railways reaching a length of about 1,190 kilometers. And land roads with a length of up to 1,180 kilometers, as well as mini industrial cities that embody stations along the road under construction.

    Regarding the border problem, the Iraqi ambassador to Turkey said, “Iraq is serious about ending these problems, especially the problem of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, because Iraq does not allow it to be a source of threat to neighboring countries, especially neighboring Turkey “[/rtl]
